Keepers
- É/F kiss under the sunlit sky is kept by Maggie because "It's just *swoon* perfect. It's the only kiss in canon, and Tolkien knew just how to stage it! At that moment, Faramir and Éowyn finally get the happiness they deserve..."
- Faramir's kiss on Éowyn's brow is kept by Tarhiliel because "I think it's tragic and I love what Faramir says about the 'picture in his mind' about Numenor and the 'evil that has befallen'. And then when he says that no Darkness will endure it really shows how he feels about her."
- 'Then the heart of Éowyn changed, or else at last she understood it. And suddenly her winter passed, and the sun shone on her.' is kept by Lily Grace because "It shows how Éowyn, realizing that she loved Faramir, was able to come out of her darkness, her depression because of him. She had been healed in body but might as well have still be dead, because her heart & soul were in darkness. It is one reason we know that Faramir and Éowyn are soul mates, because we see how he is the *only one* who is able to heal here, and whom she could ever love."
- Fair Ithil is kept by Licia because "Ithilien's namesake, the Moon, brings light to that once dark land, which becomes Faramir and Éowyn's home."
- 'Once I pitied your sorrow. But now, were you sorrowless, without fear or any lack, were you the blissful Queen of Gondor, still I would love you.' is kept by because "I always loved this part of "The Stewart And The King". I just found this so beautiful that Faramir would love her even if she didn't ever love him back."
- Hair mingling together is kept by because "It's soooo just... perfect."
- "And as they stood so, their hands met and clasped, though they did not know it" is kept by because "If that isn't destiny, what is? I love how Tolkien uses this description to show a connection between Éowyn and Faramir. It's so sweet!"
- "Now she is healed" is kept by because "then Éowyn says: "Yet now that I have leave to depart, I would remain. For this House has become to me of all dwellings the most blessed." I love this part because it is at this moment that everyone - Faramir, Éowyn, the Warden, the reader - knows that her heart is truly changed. Where once she wanted to escape, now she will remain gladly because of what she found."
- Éowyn and Faramir's wedding is kept by Hillary because "Because of their wedding, their "happily ever after" in Ithilien was possible. It's a crowning point of the happiness they claimed after the War of the Ring."
- "I do not offer you my pity. For you are a lady high and valiant and have yourself won renown that shall not be forgotten; and you are a lady beautiful, I deem, beyond even the words of the Elven-tongue to tell. And I love you." is kept by Nina because "It is the most realistic romance--and the most meaningful and magnificent--that I've ever seen in fiction. It warms my heart to see Éowyn loved and respected for the amazing woman she is, and for her to love and respect the equally deserving Faramir."
- The Look at the end of the RotK movie is kept by Kima because "It's so sweet... you can just see the love in their eyes, and that smile on Éowyn's face radiates happiness. It gets an "aww" every time!"
- Faramir's 'I say to you that you are beautiful' speech is kept by Circe because "Gods, it's just so gorgeous! '...but neither flower nor lady have I seen till now in Gondor so lovely, and so sorrowful...it would ease my heart, if while the Sun yet shines, I could see you still.' It is, in my opinion, one of the most romantic things ever."
- Éowyn and Faramir's time together in the Houses of Healing is kept by E-angel because "It"s the beginning of their relationship and why they got to know each other. And their meetings are soooo romantic! *sigh*."
- "...a great blue mantle of the colour of deep summer-night...set with silver stars about the hem and throat." is kept by because "For me, this is the symbolism of Faramir welcoming Éowyn into his life. I can just see Finduilas smiling down on her baby boy.... *tear*."
- "I would" is kept by because "I've always loved that quote! I can just imagine the look in his eyes as he says that to her... it's enough to make me melt completely!"
- "There goes a lord who tamed a wild shieldmaiden of the North!" is kept by Lisa because "Éowyn thinks people of Gondor will think that of Faramir but Faramir doesn't care, he is impressed by Éowyn's bravery and skill with the blade."
- The first meeting of Éowyn and Faramir is kept by Angelqueen because "It is here that destiny begins to work its beautiful magic. Though Éowyn is slowly losing herself in the darkness Aragorn could not banish, Faramir is still in his right mind and sees her as she truly is: a valiant and wonderful woman. Such a wise man, to see a woman's true self, even when that self was buried deep where no one else could see it."
- Elboron is kept by because "Éowyn and Faramir's firstborn son - is the ultimate expression of their love and happiness together. He deserves special esteem and regard because of it. And besides, if I claim him, I can offer to babysit when the Lord and Lady of Ithilien require some time alone together. *sweet smile*"
- When Éowyn finally realizes she's in love with Faramir is kept by because "Faramir helps heal Éowyn's broken heart."
- 'Éowyn, do you not love me, or will you not?' is kept by because it's "A simple question that means everything."
- 'I would not lose so soon what I have found' is kept by Dana because "I love this whole quote by Faramir, 'But think not ill of me, if I say to you: they (end of days) have brought me both a joy and a pain that I never thought to know. Joy to see you; but pain, because now the fear and doubt of this evil time are grown dark indeed. Éowyn, I would not have this world end now, nor lose so soon what I have found." Faramir pours his heart out to Éowyn, and she is over-powered by the 'urgency' of the moment..."
- Éowyn's Smile is kept by Danielle because "The beauty that Éowyn brings to the world is unbeatable. Truly Éowyn has the smile that encourages the sun to rise every day..."
- Faramir and Éowyn's betrothal is kept by Adri
because "When Éomer finally announces their engagement, it's the official beginning to the blissful life they're going to share together."
- 'Now I must go back to my own land and look on it once again, and help my brother in his labour; but when one whom I long loved as father is laid at last to rest, I will return.' is kept by because "I love that line, because it shows Éowyn has changed for him. She wishes to be more than just a shieldmaiden and will settle into a home with him. Its adorable. She promises to return."
- '...and he cared not that they stood high upon the walls in the sight of many. And many indeed saw them and the light that shone about them...' is kept by because "It's love at its most beautiful and perfect."
- Éowyn and Faramir's smiles at the coronation are kept by because "They finally know that they have each other and ....they look soo freakin cute together!"
- 'I wished to be loved by another, but I desire no man's pity.' is kept by Sarah because "Éowyn is letting Faramir know that she is willing to love and be loved but for real reasons, not because he SHOULD love her. Also it shows she stills has this conflict with being a woman but wanting to be strong."
- '"Then you think that the Darkness is coming?" said Éowyn. "Darkness Unescapable?" And suddenly she drew close to him.' is kept by LLes because "It's the first, for me, really romantic scene! Viva Éowyn and Faramir!"
- The É/F scenes cut out of the theatrical version of The Return of the King are kept by Ksenia because "That was what all of us anticipated and are still anticipating so fiercely."
- 'Do not scorn pity that is the gift of a gentle heart, Éowyn!' is kept by Jade Rocket because "This quote by Faramir shows that he has a kind and gentle heart capable of loving and pitying even a hard-hearted shieldmaiden."
- 'I stand in Minas Anor, the Tower of the Sun, and behold! the Shadow has departed!' is kept by because "At this moment Éowyn realizes the love of Faramir can bring her all the joy and happiness in the world she has been missing."
- The deliciously romantic, low-angst future of Éowyn and Faramir is kept by Melyanna because "If any characters in literature truly deserve to live 'happily ever after,' it's Éowyn and Faramir!"
- 'I no longer desire to be a queen' is kept by because "This line showed that Éowyn was over her infatuation with Aragorn and was ready to start her life with Faramir. His response was absolutly wonderful: 'That is good, for I am not a king.' Then he kissed her and I still to this day smile and laugh at this part. It shows the playfulness in their love for each other."
- '...all my limbs are light, and a hope and joy are come to me that no reason can deny. Éowyn, Éowyn, White Lady of Rohan, in this hour I do not believe that any darkness will endure!' is kept by because "There is no questioning Faramir's happiness here! Aww, isn't it so nice to see Faramir filled with bliss? X)"
- The land of Ithilien is kept by because "It is the land where Faramir and Eowyn spent their lives together."
- 'And after the feast those that were to go took leave of King Éomer, and Faramir abode with him, for he would not be far from Éowyn any longer.' is kept by because "For me, this expresses just how passionate Faramir is about her (and the other way round, obviously), especially when to me he is always very calm and self-controlled, at least on the outside. The two of them have been through so much hate that when they find each other they cannot risk losing each other again."
- Éowyn's 'I will be a healer' speech is kept by because "Being a BIG Éowyn fan, I love the moment when she just lets go of all her sorrow and begins realizing the beauty of the world that Faramir is offering her. I think Éowyn also realizes how much she has to give to the world. I just love this moment."
- Éowyn laying her head on Faramir's shoulder, and he, in turn, resting his head on hers is kept by because "I love their subtleties of their love."
- The first time Éowyn says "I love you" to Faramir is kept by because "I know she does, but I'd like to have her say it nonetheless."
- Éowyn and Faramir's troth plighting is kept by because "that's the part where Aragorn is happy to see her happy, only with someone else, and all three of them are so unselfish...'and they set hand in hand'...enough said!"
- Faramir's Healing influence on Éowyn's heart is kept by because "I think that we all need that sort of healing touch that only true love and understanding can ever bring....I dont think we're really whole until we have that.(Im still waiting....but its mine to wait for!)"
- The way Faramir looks at Éowyn in the Houses of Healing (after she wakes up) is kept by Annick because "We can see that Faramir is attracted to her. Passion, tenderness in his eyes. Great moment. They are perfect for each other."
- The slight suprise on Faramir's face when Éowyn rests her head on his chest during "The Captain and the White Lady" (RotK Extended Cut) is kept by because "I think for a moment that my lovely captain had DOUBTS that she'd accept him! It was so quaint and made him seem younger, tentative, and therefore in my eyes more real and loveable."
- 'My window does not look eastward.' is kept by because "It always makes me cry, every single time I read it. Éowyn's so vulnerable, not the ungentle Shieldmaiden we're used to AND Faramir is such a sweetheart in this scene!"
- 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart. And she looked at him and saw the grave tenderness in his eyes, and yet knew, for she was bred among men of war, that here was one whom no Rider of the Mark would outmatch in battle.' is kept by Aramel
because "It was the first time they saw each other, and noted each other, and it is just so aww-y."
